Wood Privacy Fencing

The one people
picture when they
say “fence.”

Cedar and treated pine privacy fence, board-on-board or shadowbox, built straight and set deep. It is the classic backyard fence, and it is the one where a straight top line and a plumb post every time is the whole game.

Chain Link Fencing

Tough, affordable,
and done right.

Galvanised and black vinyl-coated chain link for yards, dogs, pools and commercial lots. It is the most affordable fence there is, which is exactly why the posts and the tension still have to be done properly, so it does not sag in two summers. This is one of our real jobs.

Vinyl Fencing

No paint. No stain.
No rot.

Vinyl privacy and picket fence that never needs painting, never rots and wipes clean. It costs more up front and then costs nothing for the next twenty years. Set on posts done right, it is the lowest-maintenance fence you can buy.

Gates

The part that
moves.

Walk gates, double drive gates and ornamental entrances, hung so they swing true and latch clean, and keep doing it after a thousand uses. A gate is the one part of a fence with moving parts, which is why it is the first thing that fails when someone rushes it.

Fence Repairs

Fix the fence you
already have.

Leaning posts, storm damage, a section a tree came down on, a gate that will not close. You do not always need a whole new fence. We repair what is worth repairing and tell you honestly when a fence is past it, instead of selling you a new one either way.

The yard, put
back better.

A fence tears up a yard. We put it back and then some: grading and dirt work, fresh sod and seed, cleanup and haul-off, and mulch, edging and planting beds along the new line. One crew for the fence and the ground it stands in.

The part you cannot see

A fence is only as
good as its posts.

Anybody can screw pickets to a rail. Whether your fence is standing straight in five years is decided underground, before the pretty part goes on: how deep the posts go, how they are set, and whether someone called before they dug. Here is the part of the job that actually matters, and that a lot of people skip.

2 ft
Set deep, locked in

Most posts go about two feet into the ground and get locked in with concrete — deep and solid enough to stand straight for years. When a job calls for the most hold against frost heave, we drive (pound) the posts deeper still, below Central Iowa’s frost line. Either way, it’s the post set right — not the pickets — that keeps a fence from leaning.

811
Called before we dig

Under Iowa Code Chapter 480, calling Iowa One Call (811) before augering a new post is not optional, it is the law, with two business days’ notice and penalties up to $20,000 for digging blind. Gas, power and fibre run through a lot of yards. We make the call, every time, before a single hole gets dug.

115 mph
Built to take the wind

Iowa builds to a 115 mph design wind speed, and a privacy fence is a sail. Posts sized and spaced right, set deep and concreted properly, are what keep a fence standing through the storms that flatten the cheap ones. That is what “structurally sound and built to withstand” actually means.

Sources: Iowa Code Chapter 480 (Iowa One Call), and the frost-depth (42 in) and design-wind-speed (115 mph) values Iowa adopts under the 2015 International Residential Code. This is general information, not a code ruling on your specific project.
Why Precision

Done with
precision.

A small central-Iowa crew that does fencing and the landscaping around it, and does the underground part that decides whether a fence lasts.

5.0 on Google

Every review says the same three things: quick, honest, and built to last. One customer wrote he was “confident the work is structurally sound and built to withstand.”

Honest pricing

A real number, up front, and no games. “Honest pricing, quick work” is a direct quote from our Google profile. Built right, priced fair.

The crew shows up

Two hard-working guys who communicate, turn up when they say, and do it fast. That is in the reviews, and it is why they get recommended.

Fence and yard, one call

We do the fence and the landscaping around it, so you are not chasing two contractors to put your yard back together after the posts go in.

What we build

Fences, gates,
and the yard around them.

Wood, chain link and vinyl fencing, gates, repairs and full landscaping, across Fort Dodge and central Iowa.

More than fencing

We put the
yard back.

Installing a fence tears up a lawn, and most fence crews hand you back a trench and a pile of dirt. We do the landscaping too, so one crew finishes the whole job: the fence, the ground it stands in, and the beds along it.

Talk landscaping

Grading & dirt work

Leveling, regrading and drainage, so water runs the right way and the ground is ready before a post goes in.

Sod, seed & cleanup

Fresh sod or seed over the torn-up line, spoil hauled off, and the yard left tidy instead of trenched.

Mulch, beds & plantings

Mulch, clean edging, and flower or shrub beds along the new fence, so the line looks finished, not just fenced.

How it works

Set deep.
Built straight.

The difference between a fence that lasts and a fence that leans is entirely in the part you cannot see. So that is the part we do not rush: the locate, the depth, and the set.

The fence goes in straight, the gate swings true, and the yard gets put back with grading, sod and cleanup. Done with precision.
